Jay, how about Hobbitland for retirement? Earn it in the USA and spend it in NZ where a US$ goes a longggg way. Japanese laugh at our prices. Chinese are flooding in.

Here are the 'investor' category requirements for residency [$ are NZ$ = US50c] : immigration.govt.nz

There are other categories. You can view some Epsom real estate here: barfoot.co.nz\resultsnr.htm&ob=price&pf=300000&pt=1000000&pth=1&ptt=1&rg=&rr=res\RR.txt&st=sub&sub=Epsom&SubLst=&tpl=res\results.htm&rf=25 Epsom is an expensive suburb, so you can get much cheaper places. Take a look around, here: barfoot.co.nz

Jay, that is not part of the script. Americans will now reduce consumption and increase savings for retirement. American products will be more competitive under the cheaper dollar, and the rest of you folks around the world will just have to step up to the plate and consume more stuff! -Snow
