You said:"BUT WHERE is the growth for this country going to come from???? "

Answer: from confident investors and entrepeneurs.

If entrepreneurs feel as I do, it looks increasingly depressing and risky to launch into a new venture right about now. The same is no doubt going on through corp boardrooms. This is all due to lack of confidence in those at the top. We're being lied to, is the feeling.

That is combined with this downdraft, which is now feeding upon itself and making a self-fulfilling prophesy. Have you noticed it doesn't help for the administration to announce "the economy is strong! Don't worry !"...
That's because they are seen as self-serving liars, who's utterances are all suspect.
If they would keep quiet and out of the way, the investors would have their normal American optimism find reasons and people to have confidence in.

Hint: it ain't the Bush people.

If the growth doesn't come from tech, then where you ask. Well, the service industry is the fastest growing sector I hear. The tech bubble burst. And it's not coming back. Heck, what will we peons need computers for? We're going down for the count. Watch out Canada! Americans will be crossing their borders in droves looking for work.
