If you want to talk "fundamentals", the US will thrive in ways we cannot imagine, taking a long view. But there may be capitulation next week. It could be a disaster Re:covert nature of government-industrial complex: this is the cancer in government since 1947, growing into tens of thousands of unaccountable operatives, who report only to other unaccountable operatives, costing billions of dollars and lots of lives. IMO the only way gov't will survive as a free Republic will be if there is full disclosure of every public dollar, program and every person in realtime, with the only exception of bona-fide military secrets of which there are almost none.
