Thanks, Westi! No finer compliment have I ever heard. Bear in mind I speak for myself only. I have strong opinions that are not shared by some of my colleagues in other disciplines. Also bear in mind that I am a little guy--very little--far from the chambers where policies are made. I've decided, however, not to be silent. Perhaps that is why I am so little. I haven't read Al Gore's book. I'll wager it was written by the Sierra Club or some such ghost writer, of which there were many in the Clinton administration. They often present powerful arguments that leave out coefficients for the biggest element in the equation: us.
