This is certainly an interesting development, but unfortunately the article is vague and I think it would be premature to draw any conclusions from it.

The article alleges that ex-FBI guy, Royer, gave stock tips to two other FBI guys, but it doesn't indicate that those FBI guys knew that the information was tainted or, for that matter, that these particular tips were the result of information illegally obtained.

It's interesting to note that Christie Sarkey, ex-girlfriend of Royer, lost $4,000 on a stock tip given to her by Royer. Doesn't sound like a 'sure thing' insider tip to me. Sarkey alleges that "she knows that other agents and perhaps some support staff personnel invested with Royer", but she could be referring to the same two FBI agents and, again, it's not clear whether these people knew that the information was tainted (if indeed it was tainted at all).

I really think we need a lot more information on this before we make sweeping judgements about the integrity of the FBI.

Interesting to me is that Royer may have violated his bail and could possibly lose his freedom prior to trial.
