There comes a time when the national interest may not be helped by more of this.

What national interest is that? To be the world policeman? To be fighting phantom wars elsewhere so that Bush's approval numbers won't plunge in this country? They are already zero outside here so all it remains is to be zero in here soon (and we are getting there fast). You talked about all those reasons that economic activity has gone down but you forgot the main one. The clueless bozos we have in the white house. The wars that we are fighting in the middle east is NOT for the good of Americans, it is for the good of big oil. The same big oil that has our president in his pocket. The dollar isn't declining just because of the U.S. economy. It is also declining because foreign funds are pulling dollars out of the U.S. cause they've had it with our hypocritical foreign policy. No, this bubble isn't because of Bush, but Bush has sure fueled the fire with his clueless policies. And if we go and attack Iraq, then you haven't yet seen the depths that a madman like Bush could push his own country into the abyss.

And BTW, I voted for the guy and I regret it every day.

JMHO.
