I agree Dave, especially that simple solutions can often be the best way to proceed. One thing I don't believe we know yet is which corporations used legal accounting methods, and which ones used fraudulant ones.

It looks to me like Worldcomm broke the law. Enron, Global Crossings and the others I'm not too sure of. So, to say "throw them in jail" to me is premature.

When my accountant finds lawful ways for me to lesson my families tax burden, I don't view that as fraud. When Bogle and Bill Moyers infer CEO's are crooks because they moved their address to Burmuda, they are simply wrong. The government created those tax havens, and the government should be held responsible for their use.

Another issue the show highlighted was the fact that corporations are paying a smaller and smaller percentage of the total tax revenue. That may be true, but it''s also true that corporations don't really pay those taxes. The customers of their products do. The expense is simply passed on to the consumer in the form of higher product costs, and a host of other ways.

It was disingenuous of Bill Moyers to not present that point of view in my eyes.

Anyway, I'm yacking on and on....Have a grand day! I've gotta run....
