Emile,

Hamas attended the Arab meeting in December where the Saudi Peace plan was announced. They left the meeting, and before the end of the day committed a huge suicide bombing at a Passover ceremony at a Hotel in Netanya which killed 30 and maimed over 120 people. This was followed by several other major attacks over the next few days.

Hamas does not want peace with Israel. They want to see Israel destroyed, and until Hamas (and several other groups) are dealt with by either the Arabs or the Israelis, there is no hope for peace.

With reference to your other point, there is indeed ethnic cleansing in the Middle East. Essentially all of the Jews (800,000) have been purged from Arab lands. In contrast, the Arab population in Israel has increased 1000% since 1949, and now makes up 20% of Israel's population.
