SEC investigated this and found nothing illegal that warranted penalties. The matter is settled.

the SEC investigated this and found many things that were not legal, and did warrant change, so they forced MSFT to change the way they did them... otherwise the matter would not be settled....

MSFT was found to have both Smoothed quarters by making earnings appear higher and lower during different quarters.....

and again, how was this Cookie Jar accounting in the best interest of the shareholder?

how can anyone pretend that they had the best interest of the capitalistic system at heart when they were found to be violating the SEC's intent and attitude in this matter...
