John, These guys are nuts when they say "don't focus on the share price". I don't buy any stock for the fun of it. The share price is my first and only concern. Everything else is way down the list. This statement is an excuse these shareholders use for no appreciation of money value.

Thank you,

Willy

WINNERS OF THE ADVANCED CARD AWARDS 2002

The winners of the Advanced Card Awards 2002 were announced at the Awards
Ceremony and Dinner, held at the Hotel Intercontinental London on 23 April 2002.

Best Security Product

Top Secure Pin Protection Label from Schreiner GmbH

Schreiner’s TopSecure label offers optimal protection for PINs or other
secret codes on cards. The label is absolutely opaque and resistant to
strong light, heat, oils, solvents and alcohol. A customized void effect
becomes visible at any attempt to tamper with the label, and kiss-cuts will
destroy the label at any unauthorized attempt to remove it. The label is
available in a choice of colours, sizes and security perforations to suit
customers’ requests.

Judges' citation: The judges felt that this opaque, highly resistant
security label provides an elegant solution to a growing problem, helping to
foil security attacks and tampering on smart cards.

november AG accelerates commercialization of IDENT Technology

Biotech company cooperates with Schreiner GmbH & Co. KG in the field of high security tags. Unique technology for forgery-proof quality protection. Integration into industrial production process.

Erlangen/Germany-based november AG and Schreiner GmbH & Co. KG from Oberschleißheim/Germany, are going to carry out a joint commercial feasibility study for november AG's IDENT system for forgery-proof product labeling. A corresponding contract was announced by both companies at PISEC, a security industry congress currently held in Florence/Italy. This is the first step towards an extended cooperation between november and Schreiner in the field of innovative security systems.

Schreiner is one of Europe's leading systems supplier for specialty tags and self-adhesive functional components. november AG develops novel methods for forgery-proof labeling, e.g. of brand and consumer products. By application of biotechnology (DNA-Ident) or thin-film technology, the IDENT systems of the Erlangen-based biotech company guarantee for particularly high security. Another integral part of the system are effective mobile readers that are currently being developed together with Siemens AG Automation & Drives.

The cooperation ideally combines november AG's biotech competence with Schreiner's product and market experience of many years. Thus, the joint commercialization of IDENT technology is pushed forward to achieve maximum security in the field of product and brand protection.

''The estimated yearly word-wide damage resulting from product piracy is approximately 300 billion Euro. This shows that existing security systems are not sufficient'', says Dr. Thomas Schulze, member of the board of directors with november AG. ''Our innovative IDENT technology offers maximum security paired with easy application. In development terms this is a big jump ahead. At the same time, we open up totally new markets for a biotech company.''

Thomas Völcker, executive of the Schreiner business unit ProSecure, adds ''With proofs of origin on the unique basis of biotechnology we are able to offer our customers secure protection against counterfeiting and thus a reliable, unequivocal identification of original products in the field of brand products, the automotive as well as the pharmaceutical industry.''

2002 Vacuum Metallized or Coated Product Winners - Schreiner mentioned

Labels - Industrial Category: Technical Award

Hueck Folien Gmbh
Product: Motorway Fee Sticker

aimcal.org

A Motorway Fee Sticker for ÖSAG Österreichische Autobahnen- und Schnellstraßßen Aktiengesellschaft, which shows road use fees have been paid, earned Hueck Folien Gmbh, Baumgartenberg, Austria, the Technical prize in the Labels –– Industrial Category. The complex structure consists of top coat/60-micron white oriented polypropylene (OPP)/metallization/ adhesive/60-micron white OPP/top coat. The OPP from ExxonMobil Chemical, Films Europe, Inc., Luxembourg, Luxembourg, is top coated, metallized and laminated by Hueck. After curing, it is slit into small reels and sent to the converter, Schreiner Prosecure, Oberschleissheim, Germany. Schreiner prints the material by letterpress with conventional and ultraviolet light-sensitive inks, adds bar coding and sequential numbering via an ion-deposition process, then applies pressure-sensitive adhesive and a polyester release liner. A hot-stamped eagle, the national emblem of Austria, stresses the official nature of the document. In the final converting step, each label is diecut in a special pattern so once applied to a windshield, it cannot be removed without tearing. The sandwiched metallization provides the opacity needed so printing on either side of the label is visible and doesn’t show through when viewed from inside or outside the car.

“This solves all the problems they had with the previous paper label,” noted one judge. “It’s very functional and secure,” said another. The judges also applauded how well the different technologies used to produce the label work together.
