I'm reviewing the folk's finances, and here are two minor anecdotes. They got an unexpected sudden payoff on a real-estate limited partnership. The buyers wanted to escape the relatively high interest rate. And one of their better mutual funds (only down 25% since the top) decided to fold up and return the remaining principal. Decided they couldn't make any money in the current environment. And so we are stuck with investing more money in today's low-rate environment.

Hope I'm not getting off topic... but IMO now that I've covered most of my shorts [going much lower no doubt] I'm feeling like the GOLD play may be one of the last great plays left for a long time... but there are timing questions IMO. All comments welcome.

...Garage industry to do retail contract work to
a) develop a favourite colour grass strain for your front lawn
b) create a portfolio of alternatives for your kids' personalities
c) let you grow a second heart instead of having 4th or 5th bypass (...you can think dirty here if you feel like...)
d) sell you your kind of a pit-bull ("should have my face traits")
e) grow avatars to keep you (your kids, whoever) out of kidnapping troubles.
f) grow avatars for politicians to address different target groups (see Dave film)
etc...
