soc security -- misnomer that it is -- and the policies implemented around the same time provided the psychology that allowed this bubble to grow to the proportion that it has. Even now, the nitwits in congress are going to step in and protect you from bad investment decisions that you might have made in the late 90's ... no new equity bull until they quit trying to protect you. Sell now while you still have the chance, unless you are just going to trade the bumps <ng>

True, but so the flip side was also BS... ie. that crap about the 'savings' numbers being way off because they didn't include all those nice stock market gains.
