Uh-oh, those look like desperate measures to me. Things could unravel here faster then we think.

Rather than hold their positions, nervous investors may respond to those rule changes by instead accelerating their exit plans. Just simple logic -- put the idea in Mom & Pop's heads that their institutions and/or government might arbitrarily enact rules denying Mom & Pop access to their savings, and it'll trigger the equivalent of a bank run on all security types in a giant race to get out first.

What a farkin' mess this is turning into
