Seems I read somewhere here on on the mod thread that the average salary at Intel was $70k. Is this true? Must mean the average engineer is making over $100k?

hmmm those are interesting numbers, never really thought about this. Andy, Gordon, and CB salaries must be skewing us. If we are going to look at engineering salaries AVG will just not do. We need mean and median with quartiles to give a better picture of the distribution :)

Jim, I can't figure out how the "average" salary at Intel is $70K, unless Intel is only counting the engineers, i.e. "exempt," flat-salary personnel.

Either that, or Intel is also counting benefits, which would be kind of a "QuantiSalary" measurement. ;-)
