Thomas, I have found it depends a lot on your perspective. If you look around, there are some who say that the Holocaust never happened. good grief!

Deliberate and calculated murder of innocent children by suicide bombers is not something that civilized people do in any circumstance.

The land that Israel rightly occupies was nothing but desert with a few Arab tents scattered around. The Palestinians who lived there had the opportunity to stay but they chose to leave rather than get caught up in the hostilities that the Arabs brought against Israel in 48.

Today, there are no original Arabs that ever owned the land that they claim is theres. The fact of the matter is the Jews have made Israel a green garden with jobs and opportunities and decent living for there hard working citizens. The present day Palestinians live in squalor and the only income they have is through work in Israel or huge sums paid to murderers families by Saddam Hussien.

They just don't get it, do they?

Israel and Palestine will never see peace until one of them is gone for good.

Santiago

thom: your recollections of what transpired in Leb are amusing.Obvioulsy youhave never been there which your comments reflect. I think your figures re deaths in Leb must have included the arab on arab violence that was so common at that time. Having been in Leb at the time the real error the Israelis committed was not finishing off what they set out to accomplish. And second they should have done more with the moderate shiite population which welcomed them as liberators when they first arrived.

anyway there are several books you might want to read to learn what actually happened. Let me know if you are interested and I can send you a list. dsm
