the model is just a political toy. one could just flip it around, and claim it's a model of the current fed's behavior in trying to goose the market over the last ten years. there's a better correlation between changes in the treasury bill yield and the market. since both the t-bill and the market's earnings and dividend yields are all below the U.S. inflation rate of 3-6 percent, i doubt the usual relationships will work.
