your geopolitical assumptions are completly wrong. The threat to US industry and populace is under a nucklear threat never seen before. During the Cuban Missile crisis the uS could have obliterated CUBA, and the Russians couldnt have done anything. At the time the USA had 100-1 the amount of warheads. In todays enviroment where a terrorist with no nation can nuke NY is unheralded. The middle East is also much worse off because there is a nuke componemt as well.

Moonshots..past performance is no guarantee of future results at the risk of sounding redundant.

Now maybe a reverse of a moonshot to the downside? No that just can not happen.

How about trading ranges with more downside overall to come? No even that can not happen.

Of course, stories are there all the time bullish and bearish and can be compared at any given time for using as guidemaps.

Can be.

Well why bother?

In the long term (which is what you are talking of now since a short(ER) term trading position went astray), nothing has changed.

In fact there is even no sense in trying to time the market.

Or even have web sites and message threads devoted to the same.

The SP DOW AND NAZ will all come back and overshoot as before all will be well and good.

No problemo.

Forget about trading options, stocks, Rydex.

Just buy mutual funds and hold. Keep adding on dips.

Now isn't that a much better way to play this ?

And isn't there another name for that type of activity?

And doesn't that belong elsewhere on another thread?
