Well you finally got me Bill J.,

Some where on this thread is a PDF file from back in '99 or '00 in which TI is touting FRAM for cell phone/PDA DSP's. But heck if I can find it now. <vLg>

As to INTC and AMD? I don't think they have missed much of the boat trip. In fact I suspect that INTC already knows that OUM, PFeRAM, and MRAM won't get there. But they have huge investments in Flash and thus will continue to serve their unembedded Flash customers until the last cow is over the fence.

Besides, right now FRAM is in the Platform building stage and no one knows what the design or process "sweet-spots" for the chips will be, except possibly TI since they have enough penetration in the DSP arena to fairly dictate at least a generation of wafers.

But INTC and AMD aren't much behind our non-TI licensees who don't have production Fabs running. Its just a guess mind, but I suspect that once everyone knows what TI does with their license, they will all be reconsidering their road maps. Where they wind up, will depend on just how successful TI has been.
