If debt implodes in the US the dollar should go to heck in a hand basket. I would think gold should be good to go under this scenario.

I really don't think we'll see a full Great Depression style implosion, so I also don't expect a full scale crash in PoG. Sure, If one wants to believe there were to be a total worldwide full economic collapse, there might be maybe a crash(or at least reduction) of precious metals prices - but might not there also be a new return to at least a partial gold standard?
