Jul 22, 2002, (Wall Street Journal /FT Information via COMTEX) -- Applied
Materials Inc., the world's largest maker of semiconductor equipment, has
developed a tool which it says could help reduce the size of chip circuitry by
half and raise semiconductor speed five-fold. Applied's equipment, which will be
under discussion at an industry conference in San Francisco today, would be used
in manufacturing circuitry that measures 65 billionths of a meter.
