If you don't want to own anything, then don't sell to open puts. With volatility as high as it is, I don't want to buy options as a decrease in volatility will wipe out any gains. Option traders will often buy or sell straddles under these conditions to capture volatility, but I don't really do straddles and can't put together a strategy in a timely manner. Does anyone here trade straddles or other complex option trades?
