There is a time to think and question, and a time not to. Or, as the Bible might have put it, a time to think, a time to obey. During war, in a uniform, is a time not to think but to obey automatically. During peacetime, when rights are under attack, is a time not to obey automatically, but to think. These two options, of course, are not intended to cover all alternatives.
