I have to agree. I was waiting for Macworld show in hopes that Apple would bring out a new pro line, at least a speed bump with a new memory system like that found on the servers. The fact that they didn't announce anything is really depressing for me as a long time mac user (since the Mac II). If they had a new desktop lineup even close to ready they would have announced it. I have the funds to buy a cinema display and dual 1G machine, but keep thinking that it is a complete ripoff compared to the new 17 inch imac. $3000 more for a bigger screen (but not that many more pixels, and a few years old technology with worse contrast/viewing angle) a slightly faster processor (unless you use a multiproc- aware program, not that many at the moment for what I do) and a bit more memory capacity doesn't seem like a good deal. I really dislike the pro line's form factor and noise levels. I may just buy the imac and wait for Apple to get their act straight, and I would guess that I am not the only one. As I see it there is no reason to buy any of the pro machines unless you really need to hook up an external monitor or have specialty cards for the PCI slots. I doubt Apple will be selling many of the 800 mHz pro machines this quarter. If apple didn't have $$$ in the bank I would seriously consider shorting it, but I can't see it going down more than a buck or so, even if their sales crater, unless they start losing money.

and $129 for OSX 10.2 which I find to be a rip off.

Now, there's a desperate measure.... It is a rip off indeed.
