Where is Bill Clinton where you need him Don't know where he is, but I know where he ought to be (prison?) Do you remember in Oct. 1998 there was an economic crisis not unlike this one? The causes were different but the results were the same. During that time, first Rueben came out and tried to deflect market concerns, then Greenspan, then Clinton. They worked like a team. Can't be sure what effect they had on the markets one way or the other but psychologically, they were extremely reassuring. You felt like the gov't understood what was happening and was doing whatever it could to alleviate the problems. Guess what, dude, that's not what's happening now. The market is in free fall, Bush doesn't have a clue, O'Neill is in Poland playing with his peter, and Greenspan is silent. These are things that people remember on election day. ITS THE ECONOMY, STUPID!!
