with no civil war, and no US abandoning of Afghanistan then I think that the Taliban is unlikely to be able to take over, or even cause everything to collapse.

The questions, really, are about how long the US wants to keep propping up the Afghan government and what military resources will be available for use in Afghanistan during an invasion of Iraq. I imagine that the Taliban/Al Qaeda force would take advantage of the Iraq situation to stretch the International force as much as possible.
