Of course not.
I don't really believe much of anything.
But if you allow people to think, they are less likely to appear credible when they say they were just following orders.

I believe our military code has an out for men who do not follow orders they believe to be in contravention of military rules. To be able to spot those cases where their commanding officers may be committing what we consider atrocities, they must be able to think for themselves.
