Joe, I guess I agree with you.

AMD's 40-bits of address space shouldn't be a limiting problem for them at all. However, I'm eager to see what AMD's 64-bit instruction set can do in practice. I still think Intel's IA-64 approach is the far superior way to go, at least for servers. An x86 compatible ISA may be the path of least resistance in the desktop market, but I don't think we will be at that point for another several years.
