Even without that, you have the link that I provided that shows incremental monthly increase in shorts. So all you have to do is look at the incremental delta to get a taste (there were a couple of charts that I did not copy - just click the link).

don't forget all the convertible debt which required shorting to lock in profits, i suspect all the convertibles and junk sold last few years have a lot to do with it, bwdik?

anybody know how they account for billions of never-to-be-covered Enron and now WCOM shares?

Neither stock traded at reported timeframe in July on NYSE or Nasdaq national market so IMO how can be counted short there anymore.
