augie-
Since Jeff is simply following the retrace of the indexes, would the retrace also apply to the ndx? If so, look at the following charts -

Or, is this really over simplifying it -g-

augie,
fwiw, I'm looking for a turn too. Excellent charts. You're right most indicators are oversold. The problem is buyers. We need to reach a level where buyers react as if the prices are bargains. So far they're waiting for greater bargains.

Augie, I'm looking for -1230 NASI

stockcharts.com[w,a]daclyyay[df][pc20!a-1230!a-1000][vc60]&pref=G

I'm looking for new lows around -700:

I'm looking for this chart to drop lower:

Anyway, since it appears stockcharts just crashed, I'll try to post some more stuff later.

Susan G posted a bunch of 60-minute charts tonight. One interesting thing is she pointed out a week ago that during a drop, normally you get 3-bear flags before a low. However, during a big drop we seem to be getting four.

There are two more that need to break. The first ones target around NDX 900, SPX 800, etc. The bounces have not been impressive off the bear flags, so it almost makes it impossible to play a bounce during this drop.

Augie, a turn in here would not suprise me. We got to my target which was a drop below the -1000 level mark on this chart. I think we need to hit the 1215 area in order to put in a solid intermediate term bottom. The problem is, there are too many people looking for capitulation, you know how that goes. I am going to try and be more flexible and maybe just close all my puts and watch. Good luck mate.

Augie: Three black crows on the SPX and NYA daily as of yesterday. So brief respite bounce could well be in order. Who knows? However, I don't think it goes far as the three crows now beg for resolution before a more sustainable rally can take place. More down to come IMO afterwards. I want to see how the averages realign during any rest. Note the newly found weakness in MSFT, CSCO and DELL. MSFT in particular fell apart yesterday ahead of analyst meeting. Who would have thunk it <GGG>? NDX makes a new closing low but VXN is at lower highs. So let's see how close we get to Jeff's 1200 in the coming days. I think we are making good progress here towards some kind of bottom but are not there yet.
