I don't have Norton System Works so I don't know what is bundled with it.

However, the javascript error that I had was mainly on the Yahoo quotes page. I would get a debug error when I clicked that favorite in IE. I also could not get the market summaries that are activated by clicking on "Yahoo Finance" to load at all.

My theory is that the problem was related to blocking the advertizing and I disabled the AD-blocker in The Norton firewall package (NIS) and the problem went away.
