Yes Chris,

RE: ""EVERYBODY is relying on what others say, because none of us has first hand knowledge."

I can remember when I was about 10, and my sister Barbara was about 8,, I asked her what color the grass was to her.. She said "green".. And I agreed, it was green, but then we talked, How can she define green to me, It was taught to her. It was taught to me that "green" was green.. Maybe we both had no idea what the spectrum was.. But was told..

Maybe she perceived "red" when I perceived "green" or vice-versa,, I don't know..

How another person perceives reality, I don't know, When I couldn't EVEN figure it out with my VERY close but departed sister..

c

we are dependent on other people only if we choose to be

I choose not to believe other people about things that really matter to me. It has served me well. I have had a better life not believing other people. For example everyone else told me to do something different about my son than I ended up doing. If I hadn't trusted my own observations, we would be in a different place now, than the one we are in. And so it goes with the rest of my life. So perhaps you consider yourself dependent- I only consider myself as dependent as I wish to be.
