In a press release Monday, the provider of outsourced telecommunications services said it expects to report positive earnings-per-share, compared to a consensus estimate for a second quarter loss. Two analysts polled by Thomson First Call yielded estimates for a second quarter loss of 1 cent and 4 cents a share, respectively. A year ago, Wireless Facilities posted a second quarter loss of $38.3 million, or 87 cents a share. Before goodwill and acquisition-related charges, the loss was $22 million, or 50 cents a share.Revenue growth for the second quarter should beat the 5% sequential increase forecast earlier because of more business from AT&T Wireless Services Inc. ( AWE), Bechtel Corp., Cingular Wireless and others. Based on first quarter revenue of $40.1 million, Wireless Facilities' estimate for second quarter revenue is above $42.1 million. Year-ago revenue was $54.7 million. The company also said it expects to exceed previous EBITDA guidance for the second quarter. On May 8 , Wireless Facilities forecast positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. The company plans to report second quarter earnings on Aug. 7 .
