In business if you when you have a set dollar debt ratio your loss factor is limited and your profits can literally be unbounded depending on how well you run your operation.

However when you are not using methods for accounting that are purely legit the result is fictional figures find their way into the real dollars of the economy.

The Feds budget is made up from the real dollars that are based on what the economy is producing there of the FED/State attempts to create a budget from these figures. When you have false statement the same statements that exaggerates the return of company affects the budget of the nation. To complicate the issue at the same time you have paper dollars that are being created to match the numbers that are carried on paper.

Miscalculations can have dire consequences on the whole. In others words if all figures are not correct it becomes one large guess as to what is going on so the results are going to be anything but what you anticipate.
