Last thought -- Sometimes you must ignore the "quacks" to get the truth, but if you ignore the "truth" because of the quacks, it is your loss. Nothing, including religion, is perfect or free from manipulation or corruption. But if you look at the past corruption of religion even, you can usually trace the real motive to money. Sure there are the crazies, but most is calculated, well-devised for personal gain. The difference is, religion was not devised for this express purpose. It has been corrupted. The stock market WAS DEVISED for this very purpose. Give them credit. Well done, and it has lasted longer than it should have. But payback can be brutal.

Syl,

You are 100% correct imo. Look at the countries where government is allowed to be involved in religion. Wars, internal strife, etc.
Tom Jefferson fore saw the horror and worked to create a country where religious belief is honored and given all the freedoms, but it is NOT a place where government has any involvement.
This helped create the greatest country in our times.

I fear Mr Bush does not understand Smoot Hawley or the Separation of church and state.
