How horrible!

Why do families go to countries where their cultural practices are so far different from the country they're in and then expect life to go on as if they were still in their home country?

That is just awful and sad to think that life under those circumstances still exist today.

I'm afraid that is what happens when a culture stays 800 years behind the real world. Saddest part is the daughter was moving into and living a 21st Century existence.

That happened to a Palestinian girl in St. Louis. Her mother held her while her father stabbed her. The elder sisters, married and living in Palestine, agreed with their parents.

The crime: she was dating (if it can be called that) a black boy.

The punishment: death penalty

With stories like that, it is so very difficult to see how that culture could ever be assimilated into Western society....

How very sad......
