I don't see any desire to achieve any kind of balance from the left. That is because the current administration is way way to the right. Any balance is achieved by moving toward the center. Your argument reminds me of the constant railings against a "liberal" press when in fact nearly every major outlet from Clear Channel, to NewsCorp, to GE, to the Moonies are owned by right wing conservatives who insist that their media outlets conform to their idealogy.
