SAN FRANCISCO, California (Reuters) -- Intel Corp. is moving up the introduction of its Pentium 4 processor running at 3.0 gigahertz in time for the year-end holiday season, an industry source said Monday, as the world's No. 1 chipmaker looks to extend its lead over its nearest rival.

only secondarily about windows compatibilty

Windows compatability has always been a marketing thing. I personally would be utterly delighted to have a Mac that ran Windows natively. What I have now a are a G4 that I use everyday and an Athlon to keep current and to do the rare chore that I can't do on my mac. Two machines, twice the price, many, many wires, more room taken up, more heat in my unairconditioned loft. I'm telling you 99.9% of people who do webdesign would love a dual boot machine, just love it.
