KT,

I see that you keep publicly insulting your own intelligence; you know better than that. Derivatives may be used to speculate or hedge, and purchasing puts alongside the base which the put is based on is pure hedging. Which is rather far away from gambling, unless you claim that everyone with a home or car insurance (which is a put ont he value of the house or the car) is a gambler (it may make you feel better, but that's another story).

KT,

You see BGR is "indexing" into derivatives :-) You know, get a little of SP500, some puts on it, some more puts on the QQQ, move some of SP500 into NASDAQ - yup a true passive DCA Buy-and-Hold indexer like mom-and-pop Vanguard indexer.
