Why would gold get slammed today if this were the case?

Wouldn't it be the obvious choice for shelter?

Best Regards, J.T.

VIX just hit levels reached at September bottom. This should put us near the end. I don't know if gold was sold under the "sinking tide" theory or if the JPM rumors caused it. If it were just stocks, we could say they sold to meet margin calls. Whatever, today was one ugly day for me. I didn't have much in pm's except for long term position which is sizeable, but they even hit WTC which really surprised me. Hopefully it is a sign of capitulation.
