It also says, "We need to beef up our K7 line, because we aren't as confident that our K8 will end up meeting schedules and/or performance." Last minute changes in plan are usually last minute for a reason.

AMD's slides from the Platform Conference show a slide of Clawhammer with one 16-bit HT link in a UP configuration, and another slide with Clawhammer and two 8-bit links for a DP configuration. Apparently, the single link can be split up into two links of half width.
