Thanks Scott!

15 hours! That would have driven me nuts.

It did. Didn't sleep at all. Took a short nap this morning when I got done. When I woke up, the site was running from its new home. Way too close for comfort. I can envision a scenario where I didn't have the backup, and the plug got pulled. Not a pretty picture if it had happened. From now on I'll always have two back ups. One on CD, one on the hard drive, no matter where I am.

Glad you stuck with it...

Didn't have a choice. My clients now send out mass emails containing the proofsheet links of their presently running plays, so the publications can choose which images they want emailed to them, higher res. That's why I was so frantic when my old host gave me the boot.

what would you use to scan slides in order to create jpg files

I use a scanner, an older Canon version much like the cheaper one about which I posted. When I bought mine a couple of years ago, the best price was $1800.

Another way is to buy a slide copying close up accessory for one's digital camera, if one has a digital, and the accessory is available for it.
