There are some similarities to the civilian deaths from this attack and those from those from US bombing in Afghanistan. If anything Israel has even been more careful about trying to prevent civilian deaths then we have.

The bombing was very sloppy.....not typical of the Israeli. As a consequence, adjacent bldgs were taken out. I think it was intentional as a payback for the suicide bombings.......not surprising. However, it is too bad for the peace talks.

I know this is not cool to say but I wish there was a war as Ten or you suggested and they blew each other up. I feel the same way about them as I do the Irish Caths. and Prots.

I think Israel should not have done this. They KNEW there were likely to be civilian casualties. It is a fact that in war bad things happen and civilians get killed; but the United States would never target a building that was KNOWN to contain civilians.

It still is not morally equivalent to what the terrorists are doing; Israel can rationalize that if they have to kill a few civilians to get the leader of HAMAS, so be it. But I do not think the civilian casualties will further the cause of peace.

I think the administration has responded about right -- not strongly condemning the action but not supporting it either.

While the Palestinians brought it on themselves, we should expect Israel to adhere to a higher standard than those of terrorists....
