"In other words, the 21% gain occurred all during the Christmas and first quarters of this year. In the quarter just ended Amazon was sales growth was flat (down 0.22% to be precise) compared to previous quarter, adjusted for seasonality.
"

This is correct. I am waiting for their conference call. They lost about $94 million but things are better???? That is a million dollars per day.

>>Of course, if you dig deeper the real headline is sales dip 4.84% from consecutive quarter as compared to last year dip of 4.62%.

Sales plus deferred revenues dipped 5.6% sequentially as compared to last year's dip of 5.0%.

These numbers could indicate a slowing of sales growth. AMZN thinks that it'll take a while for the shipping discounts to kick in.
