That could well be it, and indeed the market did sell off pretty steeply in the last hour. Art Cashin over on the CNBC website noted earlier in the day that the last hour of trading would be very important to determine whether the market would continue falling. He said a sharp drop would indicate continuing mutual fund redemption, and continuing pressure on the downside. So it looks like we are in for more fun tomorrow.

At least we can take some measure of comfort that the Q dump was part of this overall trend, and not the result of a judgment by the market specifically on Q.

Mighty cold comfort, however.

Thursday afternoon cannot come soon enough.
