Yes, often it's a matter of withstanding fierce mental emotional stress. I am ONLY looking at fundamentally sound stocks at this point that are undervalued technically and fundamentally in my mind, even for quick trades. Like I said they may try to move MSFT down to $40 or $41 tomorrow but could just as easily move it to $50 soon too. With EXPE, the same could happen, although I would expect Feb. support near 41-42 to provide support. We'll see. With much of the general public shorting now, they could easily panic and cover, but we need some UNexpected good market moving news. The major Power Players want longs to suffer as much as possible and they won't make it easy to pick a pre-rally bottom.
