long-gone, thanks for that interesting snip about the gold shorts. I suppose when they saw the USD going up sharply yesterday they thought, "Now's the time". It's clear they were also shorting the gold stocks because they all fell like stones.

One can only imagine how many thousands of tonnes of gold and how many millions of shares they will have to buy in. But then, I suppose, if the banks default or go insolvent and can't cover, your Congress will pass laws to nullify the transactions. If I remember correctly, something like that was done in 1980 when the Hunts cornered the silver market shorts.

I thought this was very amusing, "...my step daughter is being considered as a finalist for a scholarship offered by a Major Investment Banking House. Must she really major in Market Manipulation & minor in Crooked Accounting?.."

... because, in fact, it's true. Anyway, it was.
