Totally diagree Gerard, Microsoft has been an example of Capitalism at it's finest. Strong clean balance sheets, they pay a lot of taxes, they help the US trade balance immensely. The have been absolutely competitive and always done what is needed to help their product growth including copying ideas from Netscape among others. Giving away and integrating the Explorer browser was a brilliant move. Micrsoft creates jobs and makes money somthing AOL isn't doing.

The PC business is the most dynamic, creative and competitive industry in the world. Name me another sector of the economy as competitive as Personal Computers? Microsoft is simply damn good at what they do. They hire the best people, they challenge those people to bust their butt for the company, and they get results. A perfect case in point is their recent foray into the gaming world. They made a decision, created a product, marketed the product, and lowered the price quickly. Nintendo, Sony and the others are now shaking in their boots at the Microsoft competition coming their way. Is their any doubt Microsoft will win 50% of the gaming market in 5 years? Now I ask you, what unfair advantage did they have against a company like Nintendo, Sega or Sony except great people, great strategy and great execution?
