A rate reduction would do nothing but create a short term rally to sell into.

With inflation under control, growth proceeding apace, and the only thing looking dicey being the stock market. I would say a rate reduction would be counter productive.
Unemployment isn't high by standards of the last 35 years (just the out of whack standards of 1997-2001), so it's hard to justify lowering it to assist unemployment.

What could the Fed possibly hope to accomplish by lowering rates?
