Strong;utes, oil service, internet security, some software Weak;semis, biotech, telecom, trannies Theme of the day is "Security and Energy?". E&P not robust, but my recollection is that it usually lags the OSX. The only thing clear to me is that the markdown in the utes appears to be over. That it was markdown, and not an event driven panic, is apparent from the way they are snapping back without any noticeable selling pressure. All of which suggests that the mm and houses are still very much in control of this market and are going to mark it down until the majority of retail buying is finished - then flush it one last time. with Stability of the banks suggests that we've avoided a financial crisis (there were rumours of an emergency fed meeting to discuss liquidity issues at JPM last night).
