Emile, I don't live in a cocoon. It appears you are subscribing to a bit of propaganda with respect to your statement that "...suicide bombers are responding to equally insane genocidal war criminals with a plan to murder or ethnically cleanse the entire Palestinian population from their homeland." In many cases governments are not at liberty to divulge fully the reasons for their actions because this would jeopardize their sources of information. So, whenever you see Israel do something that doesn't make sense given what you've been told, think about why that may be. In this case, I wouldn't be surprised if these actions are pre-emptory strikes to keep Palestinian fanatics from inflicting much more severe damage.
